Who doesn’t like Nutella?
It is simply the ultimate sweet spread or filling.
Unfortunately, like most of the best treats, it is full of sugar and fat.
This homemade healthy version of Nutella has good fats, not too sweet and guilt-free.
WHAT YOU NEED
-4 cups raw hazelnut
-2 tbsp honey (for sweeter taste add extra 2 tablespoon honey)
-¼ tsp salt
For melted chocolate:
-½ cup cacao butter or coconut oil
-3 tbsp cacao powder
-2 tbsp honey
-¼ tsp salt
HOW TO MAKE
- Preheat the oven to 350F/175C.
- On an oven tray covered in parchment paper, spread all the hazelnuts.
- Roast in the oven for 8 minute, remove and let it cool completely.
- In a small saucepan on low heat, melt the cacao butter or coconut oil with cacao powder, salt and honey.
- In a food processor, add the roasted hazelnut with a pinch of salt and honey. Start to blend for a couple of minutes.
- Uncover the food processor, collect the ground hazelnut from the edges with a spatula, mix it, close to the lid and blend again.
- Repeat it a couple of times. Let the oil of the hazelnut come out by waiting two-three minutes between the blends.
- With time, the roasted hazelnut will start to soften and slowly become creamy. It should take 20-25 mins total.
- When the hazelnut butter is ready, add the melted chocolate to the food processor, mix it together and there you have it!
It can be refrigerated for up to a month.
