Green Cleanse Soup

Every march before the Spring I do a 5-day cleanse. 
This is one of my favorite cleansing soups, to warm the body, make it clean and light.

WHAT YOU NEED

-1 heaping tbsp ghee
-1 onion
-1 leak
-5 celery stalks, chopped 
-3 garlic cloves, crushed
-2 tbsp grated ginger
-1 broccoli head
-1 kale or swiss chard bunch, chopped
-1 cilantro bunch
-1 jalapeno, seeded (optional)
-6 cups water
-¾ tbsp salt 
-½ tsp turmeric 
-1 tsp garam masala (optional)


HOW TO MAKE

  • In a soup pot on a medium heat, add the ghee, onion, leek, chopped celery and garlic. Sautee for a few minutes and stir occasionally.
  • Add the grated ginger and stir it in.
  • Break the broccoli flowers and add them to the pot with the chopped swiss chard or kale, chopped cilantro, 6 cups of water and all the spices.
  • Bring it to a boil. Cover the pot, lower the heat and continue cooking for 35-40 mins.
  • With a blender stick or a regular blender, blend the soup until it becomes a unified, smooth texture.

    Enjoy your cleansing mode. Life is good when you take care of yourself.
